Who we are
About the trail
Committees
Many dedicated citizens are helping the Trustees and
Advisory Trustees of the Eastern Trail Alliance to build
this wonderful trail resource. These volunteer efforts are
applied for the most part within several key Committees.
The list of committees and ongoing/current tasks appears
below. Contact the committee chair or any ETA officer if you
want more information about how to get involved in these
activities.
Executive
John Andrews, Chair
1.
Maintain a strong and active board, recruiting new
Trustees/Advisory Trustees as necessary
2. Maintain working subcommittees, coordinating
shared/overlapping activities
3. Complete easement for trail use with Granite State Gas
4. Seek additional trail easements and agreements as needed
5. Plan budgets, oversee all financial operations of
Alliance
Events
Bob
Bowker, Chair
1.
Plan and put on the 8 lighthouse fundraising ride every fall
2. Plan and carry out other fundraising, awareness building,
and similar events throughout the year
3. Plan and hold regular outings on the trail, including
walks, bicycle rides, and similar.
4. Advertise and promote each event on the web site, in the
newsletter, on television and radion, and through other
means
Membership and Fund Raising
Bob
Hamblen, Chair
1. Build membership; Conduct regular membership drives
2. Develop and disseminate regular press releases
3. Maintain updated slide presentation
4. Maintain web page; Maintain organizational library on web
site
5. Publicize offered outings on the trail
6. Produce newsletters
7. Create outreach brochure
8. Help to plan and promote outreach meetings for
townspeople and adjacent landowners, working closely with
Governmental Relations committee
Government Relations
John Andrews, Acting Chair
1. Send a report to each town council and thanks for recent
support annually
2. Contact and orient all new town councilors, municipal
staff and others on the Trail
3. Return to each town council and report on progress
annually
4. Hold public meetings for townspeople, adjacent landowners
5. Send regular press releases to media and people in towns
affected by trail activities
6. Plan celebrations for easement signings and trail
openings
7. Develop intermunicipal agreement (ongoing)
8. Define appropriate roles and develop memorandum of
understanding for ETA and Intermunicipal council (ongoing),
working with Executive Committee
